El Michels Affair at Madison Square Garden
El Michels Affair brings its cinematic blend of soul, funk, and instrumental music to Madison Square Garden in New York on May 1, 2027, as part of the Concerts and R&b / soul event lineup. The show also features Leon Bridges and Mari Froes, offering an evening that brings together distinct voices and sounds from across contemporary soul.
Led by musician and producer Leon Michels, El Michels Affair is known for richly arranged recordings that draw on vintage soul, funk, and soundtrack influences. The project has built a following through its instrumental albums and collaborations, including its work reimagining music by Wu-Tang Clan. Its layered arrangements and groove-led approach give the group a distinctive place in modern soul.
Leon Bridges adds a soulful vocal centerpiece, while Brazilian singer Mari Froes brings another musical perspective to the bill. Together, the three artists create a varied program for fans of expressive vocals, warm instrumentation, and rhythm-focused performances. Tickets are listed through ticketsuniondale.com. Prices currently start around $120, with costs varying by seat location and availability.
Venue and Seating Information
Madison Square Garden is a multi-level indoor arena above Penn Station, with a circular seating bowl and four main concert levels: Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level, and 300 Level. Its central Manhattan location makes the venue particularly accessible by train and subway.
For a concert, lower-bowl side sections near the center of the stage can offer a strong balance of proximity and visibility. Select central sections in the 200 Level provide an elevated full-stage perspective and may be a useful alternative. Floor views are closest, though standing crowds or production equipment can affect sightlines; seats behind the stage or in extreme upper corners may have limited views depending on the event setup.
Parking Information
On-site parking is very limited around Madison Square Garden, so visitors commonly choose a commercial garage or travel by public transportation. Garage rates can change with event demand, and nearby options may fill quickly.
- Nearby commercial garages: Garages around Penn Station and 8th Avenue are typically a 1–5 minute walk away. Event parking is approximately $30–$80, with higher prices possible on busy nights.
- Garages farther away: Options toward Herald Square or Chelsea are generally a 10–15 minute walk and may cost around $20–$50, depending on demand.
- Street parking: Metered spaces are limited, and strict restrictions make street parking an unreliable choice for event attendance.
Booking parking ahead of time can help avoid searching for a space during peak arrival periods. Last-minute parking immediately around the arena is best avoided because garages may be full or charge higher event rates.
